Spotlight On: Luna Imagery

Luna Imagery is the photographer responsible for the beautiful image that we use on the homepage of our site. Their wedding photos perfectly capture the moment. We chatted to David and Melissa about their photography style and why they love what they do.

How did you end up in the wedding business? A work friend was having a small wedding wanting some candid shots of the day. She asked us to do it and the rest is history. Word of mouth referrals flourished from then on.

What do you love most about weddings? Meeting couples, their families and friends and seeing everyone enjoying themselves. We have so many lifelong friends now.

If you had to describe your business in one word, what would it be? Fun

Any celebrity weddings you have worked on? Not yet, although a few celebrities have been guests or in the wedding party.

Other memorable weddings? An amazing Greek wedding reception… Non-stop dancing, people drinking shots off the floor (including Grandma!), bridal party dancing on their table! It was so good it had to be shut down in the end.

A typical work day for you is? For a wedding… double espresso, triple checking my gear, red Powerade and a lot of energy!

How would you describe your business style? Caring, helpful, fun and super friendly.

What is your favourite wedding ‘first dance song’? 'Let’s Stay Together' by Al Green (it was ours!)

What is the one big mistake you see couples make all the time? Trying to do too many things themselves.

What’s the best piece of advice you could give to a couple getting married? Try not to do a lot of things yourself and once you find something you like, go with it! Don’t keep looking.

What trends do you think will be big in the year ahead in weddings? A lot more of a relaxed and casual style with a focus on good food and drinks - food trucks, cocktails etc.

You can find Luna Imagery on our directory of wedding suppliers.
