We chatted with owner Milka Karamarkovic about how she got into the business of creating stylish wedding invites and stationery.
How did you end up in the wedding business? From when I was a little girl I loved stationery and I loved going to weddings, so I combined my love for both of these things and eventually decided to go into the wedding stationery business.
What do you love most about weddings? I love the atmosphere at a wedding, everyone coming together for love, its such a beautiful thing.
If you had to describe your business in one word, what would it be? Accommodating
What kind of couple is typical of your business? My brides usually have a very clear idea of their style and their budget.
A typical work day for you is? So varied….creating proofs and emailing them to my customers to review, packing up and shipping orders, working on new designs, sending jobs off to my trade printers, glueing in envelope liners, responding to emails, preparing quotes….basically lots of fun!
How would you describe your business style? Customer focused! It’s so important to me to make the process of organising your wedding invitations as smooth and as enjoyable as possible.
What is your favourite wedding ‘first dance song’? That would have to be my wedding first dance song…."Angel of Mine" by Monica.
What is the one big mistake you see couples make all the time? I’m not certain, but the one mistake that sticks out for me is couples ordering too few wedding invitations and then having to come back and order more. It’s an expensive mistake to make as its so much cheaper to just order a few extras the first time round.
What’s the best piece of advice you could give to a couple getting married? This is a tough one…..hmmm, ok…..Being in a loving and committed marriage is wonderful, but it requires hard work so always make your relationship a priority.
What trends do you think will be big in the year ahead in weddings? I think that we’ll see a lot of greenery used in wedding invitations in 2018 as well as foils and metallic.
